About this role

Job summary

An opportunity has arisen for suitably qualified Clinical Support Workers to work in De Cham ward (gastro enterology) at the Conquest hospital. A minimum of GCSE English and Maths grade C or 4 or Functional skills for English/Maths and NVQ2 in health and social care or the equivalent experience is essential.

De Cham ward is a 28 bedded plus super surge bed. We have an excellent multidisciplinary team and good team work is essential.

Main duties of the job

The Clinical Support Worker (Band 3) is a member of the care team who provides nursing care and interventions to a delegated patient caseload, assisting the Registered Nurse/Practitioners to deliver high quality and effective care. Duties will be dependent upon clinical area of work and additional training undertaken but may include:o Personal care or chaperone dutieso Supporting patients with bathing, toileting, dressing and mealso Records patient informationo A range of delegated clinical care duties including dressings, oral medication administration with Registered nurse supervision.o Undertakes and records patients' vital signso Escalate any concerns in observation or change in patient's conditiono Support and supervision of Band 2 clinical support workerso Enhanced observationso Patient escort role

Qualifications / Training Essential

GCSE English and Maths grade C or 4 or Functional skills for English/Maths Care Certificate (or willing to work towards)

Desirable

Education and training to NVQ level 3/Work based diploma or equivalent 5 GCSE grade 4 or C and above or equivalent Evidence of mandatory and statutory essential training skills, for example, Basic Life Support, manual handling, infection control, fire etc

Experience Essential

Relevant experience of working in Health or Social Care Environment delivering personal care or health care experience gained through an education programme

Relevant experience working in the NHS
