This post offers an exciting opportunity to work within the award winning AIR service (Adult Integrated Respiratory Service), based in East Berkshire.
AIR is a leading light specialist community service so as well as providing premium care we also provide training to less specialist health care
This post is part of the administration team supporting a range of health professionals to deliver excellent care for patients with respiratory diseases.
Main duties of the job
Using excellent organisational skills you will provide day to day support for a range in clinical professionals .This will include:
Being the first point of contact for health care professionals and patients
Taking and processing referrals
Direct patients, visitors and colleagues to correct clinician.
Answer telephone, deal with enquiries, direct as appropriate, take accurate messages and forward to relevant person/department
Provide information, written, verbal by telephone, e-mail, letter etc to staff from other departments and partner agencies
Make appointments for team, adjusting where necessary, i.e., conflicting diary appointments and ensuring documents and equipment is available.
Plan and prioritise own workload.
Maintain relevant documents and databases.
Assist in the preparation, collection, scanning, photocopying, printing and processing of materials for training, service information and meetings.
Typing letters and various correspondences as and when required to support service delivery.

Person Specification
Education, qualifications or training Essential
Educated to GCSE level or equivalent, in English. Good Command of the English Language Experience and training to vocational NVQ3 or equivalent
Desirable
Qualifications in IT applications such as Excel
Previous Experience Essential
Previous knowledge /understanding or experience of working in an office and/or customer care environment and administrative functions/duties. Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team Previous experience of NHS
Knowledge, skills and abilities Essential
Knowledge and experience of navigating around software programmes/packages. Effective Interpersonal & Communication Skills Ability to manage deadlines, plan and organise own workload and that of team. Accurate copy and audio typing Good IT skills to be able to enter data and can navigate around various systems and software packages - such as outlook, MS office and the internet Able to produce minutes
Additional Requirements Desirable
Previous administration experience in a hospital or similar setting
