About this role

Job summary

Are you an early-career pharmacist looking to develop your knowledge, skills and experience for a fast-track, hands-on journey that blends clinical excellence with real-world impact? We are looking for pharmacists with a passion for learning and patient care with a drive to join our team and contribute to our leading clinical services.

Join our core rotational programme provided by the one of the largest and most dynamic pharmacy departments, working across our diverse sites where from your first day, you will be immersed in a high-impact environment, supported by our expert teams and developed with the confidence, competence and experience in your journey to step in to more specialist and senior roles.

We offer a diverse range of rotations across inpatient and outpatient settings that support both patient care and service development. There will be structured opportunities for both personal and professional development with the roles designed to enable pharmacists to use their growing expertise to deliver excellent patient care working in close collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.

To accommodate flexible working and diverse career paths, we are offering roles on a 6-month fixed term contract. We welcome applications from pharmacists who are newly qualified as well as those with prior experience at band 6 or band 7 level looking for the next stage in their development or simply looking for a new challenge.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

MPharm degree (or equivalent to allow GPhC registration) Professional registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)

Desirable

Membership of relevant professional groups (i.e. UKCPA, RCPharm, BOPA, NPPG) Successful completion of a Post-Graduate Certificate in General Pharmacy Practice (or equivalent and comparable experience) Non-medical prescribing qualification

Knowledge Essential

Experience in providing clinical pharmacy services Experience of working in a Patient Services / Dispensary environment Experience of providing out-of-hours pharmacy services Experience of supervision and management of the training of students, trainee and junior pharmacists and/or pharmacy technicians Involvement with clinical audit, quality improvement, research and/or service development projects

Desirable

Experience in hospital pharmacy practice Experience of providing clinical pharmacy services in ward-based settings for medical and surgical patients Experience of working within Medicines Information or Technical Services Completion of recognised Educational or Practice Supervisor training Experience in the design and/or delivery of local education and training across the MDT Experience in leading clinical audit, quality improvement, research and/or service development

Skills Essential

Demonstrable skills and ability to safely clinically screen a prescription request for the supply of a medicine Ability to communicate pharmaceutical information effectively to members of the MDT Able to work independently, when required Able to manage their own workload effectively and escalate for support, when required Excellent attention to detail Able to work in, sometimes, emotionally challenging and evocative situations Able to work under pressure

Desirable

Demonstrable skills and ability to safely clinically screen a range of prescriptions including complex and high risk medicines Able to effectively solve own and others clinical and operational issues to best support patient care Experience of working with Electronic Patient Records and digital prescribing systems
