We are passionate about delivering high quality healthcare to our 13,500 patients by combining traditional list-holding family medicine with more innovative primary care roles including Advanced Nurse Practitioners, First Contact Physiotherapists, a Clinical Pharmacist ,and GP assistants.

This is a chance to work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the GMS contract. Furthermore, the post-holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.

Main duties of the job

The core responsibilities of the salaried GP post.are as follows:

a. The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population

b. The provision of services commensurate with the GMS contract

c. Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance

d. Effective management of long-term conditions

e. Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks

f. On a rotational basis, undertake telephone triage and duty doctor roles

g. Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance

h. Working collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload

i. Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process

j. Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice

l. Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as required

n. Ensure compliance with the appraisal process

p. Commit to self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice team

r. Support the partners in achieving the strategic aims of the practice, making recommendations to enhance income and reduce expenditure

We are a friendly GP practice with a highly professional, caring and supportive team. Our clinical team consists of 11 GPs, including six partners, two Advanced Nurse Practitioners, a Clinical Pharmacist, three nurses and two Healthcare Assistants, supported by a large administrative and reception team.

We are based in a modern, purpose-built building, where we provide innovative, high-quality healthcare to the town of Edenbridge and the surrounding community.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate and committed Salaried GP to join our friendly and supportive practice team.

The successful candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centred general medical services to our registered patient population, working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, effective and holistic care.

Key ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive and compassionate general medical care to registered patients.Conduct face-to-face and telephone consultations, assessing, diagnosing and managing a wide range of acute and chronic conditions.Provide appropriate clinical management, treatment and follow-up, referring patients to secondary care or other services where appropriate.Manage patients with long-term conditions and contribute to preventative healthcare and health promotion.Undertake appropriate clinical examinations, investigations and procedures within the scope of your competence.Prescribe safely and appropriately in accordance with current guidelines and practice policies.Maintain accurate, contemporaneous and comprehensive clinical records.Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team, including GPs, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, nurses, healthcare assistants, clinical pharmacists and administrative colleagues.Participate in practice meetings, clinical discussions and significant event reviews where appropriate.Contribute to clinical governance, audit, quality improvement and practice development.Support the practice in meeting its contractual and regulatory requirements.Maintain professional knowledge and competence through continuing professional development (CPD).Participate in appropriate appraisal and revalidation processes.Work within the policies and procedures of the practice, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to information governance requirements.Undertake any other duties appropriate to the role and agreed with the practice.Clinical Governance and Professional ResponsibilitiesThe post holder will:

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

Qualified GP with full GMC registration. Inclusion on the NHS England Medical Performers List. Experience of working in general practice. Ability to assess, diagnose and manage a broad range of clinical presentations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Commitment to clinical governance, safeguarding and patient safety. Good organisational and time-management skills. Commitment to continuing professional development.

Desirable

Experience or interest in a particular clinical area. Experience of quality improvement, clinical audit or practice development. Previous experience of working within a multidisciplinary primary care team. Interest in supporting the development of other members of the practice team.
