Job summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Greenwich Immunisations and Vaccinations Coordinator to lead and support work that increases vaccine uptake and reduces health inequalities across the borough. Working collaboratively across NHS South East London Integrated Care Board, the Royal Borough of Greenwich, primary care, community services, public health, and voluntary sector partners, you will play a key role in ensuring all eligible residents can access and benefit from immunisation and vaccination programmes.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional with strong stakeholder engagement, analytical and programme delivery skills. You will work closely with practices, pharmacies, community partners and residents to understand barriers to vaccination, promote best practice, develop targeted initiatives, and support the delivery of local and national vaccination campaigns, including childhood immunisations, seasonal flu and COVID-19 programmes.
The role combines strategic planning with operational delivery, requiring the ability to analyse complex data, build effective partnerships, influence change, and drive improvements in access and uptake. Through this work, you will make a direct contribution to protecting population health, improving outcomes for local communities, and ensuring vaccination services are accessible, equitable and responsive to the needs of Greenwich residents.

Function - Improving uptake and access to immunisations and vaccinations in the borough, working closely with primary care and other system partners to make vaccination accessible and accessed by all eligible people.

Job description Job responsibilities
Develop productive relationships with key stakeholders such as the local authority, primary care, Integrated Neighbourhood Teams, school-aged immunisation services, Trusts, comms and engagement teams, and VCSEs to reduce local variation and inequalities in the take up of vaccinations
Work with general practices and community pharmacies to improve accessibility, proactiveness and myth-busting around vaccinations in the places where people live
With colleagues and clinical leaders, undertake patient and public engagement to active understand carriers to vaccination uptake and build a picture of how and where people want to access vaccinations
Provide feedback to practices, partners, Public Health and the ICB about issues and concerns around immunization
Lead and contribute to vaccinations campaigns as appropriate, such as winter flu and Covid campaigns and childhood immunisations campaigns
Review, analyse and present highly complex information and datasets from multiple sources to understand the dynamics of immunisations and direction of travel over time within the borough
Source guidance, advice and training from local, SEL and national sources
Attend appropriate local, regional and national strategic and assurance meetings to inform and support implementation of immunisation strategies
Provide regular updates to the Immunisations SRO, local primary care teams, Public Health and the SEL assurance team
Actively engage with the Greenwich Practice Managers and Practice Nurse Forums throughout, working with leads to increase vaccination uptake and access
Develop and implement mechanisms for sharing, learning and good practice across the Borough

Skills and Abilities Essential
Ability to analyse very complex issues where material is conflicting and drawn from multiple sources Ability to apply advanced influencing and negotiation skills necessary to achieve successful outcomes, e.g. when working with directors, senior managers and staff representatives Numerate and able to understand complex financial issues combined with deep analytical skills Ability to suggest mitigations for risks in area of own operation and expertise Knowledge of Financial Systems e.g. monitoring budget management, processing invoices and procurement Comprehensive knowledge of project principles, techniques and tools, such as Prince 2 Ability to prepare and produce concise and accurate communications for dissemination to a broad range of stakeholders as required Ability to develop and maintain networks of relationships that facilitate the achievement of individual and team objectives Demonstrated capability to plan over short, medium and long-term timeframes and adjust plans and resource requirements accordingly

Experience Essential
Experience of drafting briefing papers and correspondence for a senior audience Experience of monitoring budgets and business planning processes Demonstrated experience in a Healthcare environment Experience of setting up and implementing internal processes and procedures relevant to own field Experience or working knowledge of the NHS organisational environment
Qualifications Essential
Masters degree or equivalent professional qualification or management experience or Knowledge acquired through experience or training. Evidence of continued professional development
