Main duties of the job As a Care Assistant at Avery Healthcare, your primary role will be to deliver high standards of personal care to our residents, ensuring their utmost dignity and respect at all times. We prioritize supporting our staff who play a vital role in the lives of our residents. You will form part of a dedicated and compassionate team at Horse Fair Care Home in Staffordshire. Responsibilities will include assisting residents with personal hygiene, recognizing and escalating clinical risks, and maintaining a respectful and courteous attitude towards residents and their families. Experience is not required as we provide comprehensive induction and training programs. We are looking for individuals who demonstrate initiative, effective communication, and an ability to adapt to varying responsibilities. You must also be prepared for a DBS Disclosure check. ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus as Care Assistant will be to deliver high standards of personal care, contributing fully to the care team to ensure continuity of services to residents.

Other responsibilities will include:

Assisting residents in all their personal hygiene care ensuring optimum independence, dignity and respect of individuals at all times.

Recognising and understanding clinical risk areas in residents such as weight loss, pressure sores, risk of falls, sign of infections and escalate any identified risks in a timely manner. Acting courteously towards residents and their visitors, respecting the dignity and individuality of each resident. Practicing safe systems of work across the range of task.ABOUT YOU

Have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Demonstrate initiative and be respectful towards the residents and other people in the home. Be an efficient worker who can carry reasonable instructions from other team members. Be able to be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

The ideal candidate for this role should demonstrate effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing, and possess a respectful attitude towards residents and staff. While previous experience is not required, as we provide thorough induction and training programs, a successful applicant should be able to carry out reasonable instructions from team members efficiently and be adaptable to handle a variety of responsibilities. Additionally, a willingness to undergo a DBS Disclosure check is necessary to ensure the safety and reliability required in the care environment.
