Mechanical Systems Engineer-shenzhenTo strengthen our e-Bike Mechanical System Engineering team in Shenzen, China, we are seeking for a Mechanical Systems Engineer to commence immediately or by agreement. In this role, you will be developing solutions for state-of-the-art e-Bike System parts on the mechanical side.
How you’ll make a difference
• Develop components of highly complex mechanical and/or electromechanical Systems (battery housing, display housing, remotes, etc.) • Design and develop components to integrate the electromechanical ones into the frame. • Brainstorm and collaborate with teammates to solve challenging problems through innovative solutions designed to be manufactured. • Work closely with members from other teams, including Industrial Design, Project Management, Product Management, and other Engineers, to ensure a successful outcome for your projects. • Externally, you will be working with various vendors and manufacturing plants. • Own and execute your projects from concept to production, including rapid prototyping, 3D modeling, 2D drawings, structural calculations, sample fabrication, validation, etc. • Willingness to collaborate and compromise to ensure that important decisions can be made to ensure the best solution for the overall project. • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our systems and processes to help drive efficiency and innovation
What you need to win
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (higher or equivalent) • 5-8 years in a role with similar responsibilities is preferred • Experience designing mechanical system components. • Good knowledge of designing and manufacturing in injection molding, metal extrusion, metal stamping and casting. • Good design and development skills with a first-principles engineering approach in 3D modeling skills (preferably using CREO (Pro/E)) • Good GD&T and stack-up tolerances knowledge is a must. • Bicycle tech knowledge and a passion for e-bikes is a plus. • Basic electronic knowledge is a plus. • Strong problem-solving skills and hands-on mentality rounded by an elevated level of creativity. • Effective communication skills, verbally and in writing. • Forward thinking and proactive attitude. • Handling several projects at the same time and anticipating the next steps. • Comfortable with working in an international environment and in different time zones. • Willingness to travel internationally (US, Asia, Europe, 2-3 trips per year) • Professiional English skills, verbally and in writing.
