Our clients are a diverse and colorful group, often with psychiatric problems, a history of addiction, or other circumstances that make it difficult to find a connection in society. What can you do as a buddy? As a buddy, you give our clients something incredibly valuable: personal attention and a listening ear. You help them to build social contacts, to participate in society again and to give meaning to their day. With your patience, communication skills, and respectful attitude, you help them to take small but important steps forward. Your support gives them the confidence that they matter and are not alone. Tasks: As a volunteer, you really make a difference for our clients. You help them with: - Making social contacts: For example, by having a chat together, going for a walk, or sharing a hobby, such as chess or going to the gym. - Filling in daytime activities: Think of tidying up together, a visit to the thrift store, or other activities that match their interests. - Stimulating participation in society: Such as discovering the community center together, exploring new places in the living environment, and expanding the social network. - In short, your commitment revolves around customization: you undertake activities that fit the wishes and needs of the client.
