Cavendish Farms is looking for Seasonal Farm Equipment Operator (recovery tractor) for our Potato Farm located in Chapman Settlement, NS. It is a SEASONAL position from mid or end of September for approximately 3-4 weeks Work Schedule: 7 days a week, 10–14 hours per day Work Location: Chapman Settlement, NS.
• A positive attitude. • Safely operate farm tractors. • Ability to effectively communicate with management and co-workers. • Preform daily equipment maintenance; ensuring all components are functioning properly. • Contribute to the team’s goals and provide feedback on how to better operations. • General labour duties like potato grading, disinfecting equipment, cleaning buildings/yard, etc. when needed. • Please note this role is a blend of equipment operation duties and all the other duties depending on the business needs.
• Experience operating tractors or other heavy farm equipment. • Ability to lift 50lbs. • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced, team environment. • Availability to work extended hours, evenings, and weekends. • Willingness to work outdoors in mixed weather conditions. • Mechanical aptitude. • High degree of attention to detail. • Previous experience working in farm operations would be an asset.
