Shift: Nights
The NICU Registered Nurse provides professional, compassionate nursing care to neonates within our Level III NICU. This role coordinates care planning with the multidisciplinary team and renders individualized, age-specific, and direct bedside nursing care based on the nursing process and patient needs. The RN systematically evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice to support optimal patient outcomes.
• Provide safe, evidence-based care to critically ill infants. • Act as a clinical leader by assessing, planning, delegating, and using independent judgment to direct other healthcare team members. • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other disciplines to ensure coordinated patient care. • Participate in hourly rounding and follow safety guidelines and best practices. • Supervise and mentor other members of the healthcare team.
• Minimum Requirements • Experience: At least 1 year of current hospital-based acute care RN experience in a NICU. • Education: Nursing degree from an accredited nursing school. • Certifications: • Current RN license in the State of Arizona (or compact license), • CPR • NRP (required upon orientation completion) • ACLS as applicable by facility/department
• Preferred Requirements • Experience: At least 1 year of Level III NICU experience, including care of infants requiring conventional ventilators, HFOV, central lines, and therapeutic hypothermia. • Education: BSN • Certifications: Specialty certification a plus.
