About this role

Head High School Baseball Coach Position Summary Lisbon Community School District is seeking a dedicated individual to serve as a Head High School Baseball Coach. The successful candidate will develop student-athletes, a positive team culture, and maintain a safe and competitive athletic environment. Essential Functions

• Plan and conduct practices, skill development, and game preparation.

• Teach sport-specific skills, techniques, strategies, and fundamentals.

• Provide feedback and support to promote student-athlete development.

• Assist with scouting, game preparation, equipment, travel, and other program responsibilities.

• Communicate positively and professionally with student-athletes, coaches, families, and community members.

• Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, accountability, and a positive team culture.

• Follow all district, conference, and state rules, policies, and expectations.

Athletic Facility Responsibilities

• Assist with beginning-of-season preparation and setup of athletic facilities and equipment.

• Maintain and prepare outdoor playing surfaces throughout the season, including routine field upkeep and game-day preparation (chalking, dragging, etc…)

• Assist with weather-related preparation and cleanup as needed to maintain safe playing conditions.

• End-of-season teardown, storage, and organization of equipment and facilities.

• Contribute to the additional work necessary to properly maintain and care for outdoor athletic facilities before, during, and after the season.

Qualifications

• Current Iowa Department of Education Coaching Authorization required.

• Coaching experience preferred.

• Strong knowledge of the sport and its rules, techniques, and strategies.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work effectively as part of a coaching team.

• Completion of required district trainings or willingness to complete them.

Compensation Compensation varies based on the specific sport and level of competition (Middle School/High School). Closing Date: Position will remain open until filled.
