Huntsville School District Job Description Job Title: Spanish Interpreter Reports To: ESOL Coordinator Job Summary: The Spanish interpreter will support teachers, administrators and families in providing translation services in a variety of school settings. This position must possess the ability to adapt to different levels and needs of students, build strong rapport with parents and colleagues, and have the desire to work in a student-centered environment Essential Duties:

• Effectively observes assigned work hours.

• Maintains a pattern of prompt and regular attendance.

• Follows the daily schedule as prescribed.

• Acts as a liaison between Spanish speaking families and the school district.

• Completes home-visists as needed

• Translates effectively and accurately during meetings with parents

• Translates written material in a timely manner.

• Demonstrates a positive attitude toward work assignment.

• Prolonged periods of standing or sitting could be required.

• Other duties may be assigned

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred

• Fluent in Spanish and English languages, both spoken and written
