About this role
**student must be 16 years old General Responsibilitites: To assist the teacher, supervisor and/or aide in caring for the children and maintaining the physical environment of the school facility Major Tasks:
• Helps maintain existing physical environment in good condition.
• Maintains interpersonal environment that:
• Provides warmth and affection to all children equally.
• Fosters self-esteem, respect for others, and independence; and Provides for individual differences and abilities.
• Establishes good communication with parents.
• Assists teacher, supervisor and/or aide in carrying out daily activities.
• Participates in self and school evaluations.
• Helps supervise children during education and play activities meeting their needs for attention, guidance, and safety.
• Assists teacher, supervisor and/or aide, in leaving center cleaned, materials put away, and rooms locked. When requested, stays with teacher, supervisor, and/or aide until all children are picked up.
• Reports to teacher, supervisor, and/or aide.
• In charge of setting up activities & supplies before the students arrive.
• Helps with tutoring club when necessary.
• Attends Kids Club meetings and training when applicable.
Qualifications:
• High School student in good standing.
• Some experience with children preferred; especially Child Development classes.
• Exhibit flexibility, creativity, and willingness to learn.
