POSITION TO START: August 2026 RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Teach middle school English Language Arts in alignment with district curriculum and Connecticut Core Standards.
• Design and deliver engaging, standards-based lessons that promote reading comprehension, writing, vocabulary development, speaking, listening, and critical thinking skills.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the academic, social, emotional, and learning needs of diverse learners.
• Foster a positive, respectful, equitable, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement, collaboration, and academic growth.
• Integrate instructional technology and research-based literacy practices to enhance student learning.
• Collaborate with colleagues, special education staff, interventionists, administrators, and families to support student success.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Valid Connecticut Certification or equivalent New York certification with eligibility to obtain Connecticut certification through reciprocity.
• Strong knowledge of middle school English Language Arts curriculum, adolescent literacy, instructional strategies, and assessment practices.
• Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
