Southeast Delco School District Climate Coach Openings at: Kindergarten Center, Darby Township School Reports to: Supervisor of Behavioral Supports Job Summary: Develops, oversees and manages the implementation of the District's positive school culture and climate program. Maintains a safe and positive learning environment for students. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactory. Duties & Responsibilities:
• Promotes a positive school culture and climate, through Responsive Classroom and Restorative Practices.
• Maintains a positive, safe, secure, and peaceful environment by working with students and staff to improve delivery of Responsive Classroom and Restorative Practice
• Facilitates and coordinates student activities to promote a positive school climate that is reflective of peer mediation and conflict resolution.
• Collaborates with school administrations, support staff, faculty, and the outside contractor on issues pertaining to building culture.
• Establishes and maintains an effective working relationship with teachers and administrators; establishes positive relationships with parents and provides small group or one-on-one social skills development sessions during student lunch periods.
• Participates in support team discussion and planning (for example SAP, BERT, MTSS, PBIS, etc.).
• Crisis response as needed for severe student misbehavior.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal and approved by the Assistant Superintendent.
• Provides coaching and support to staff on the effective use of Responsive Classroom and Restorative Practices.

• Knowledge of local, state and federal regulations in the areas of safety and security
• Knowledge and understanding of operating School Police department
• Ability to use/operate school district equipment when necessary
Education & Experience:
• Bachelors Degree required
• Experience with Restorative Practices and/or Responsive Classroom preferre
• Familiar with the operations of a school and familiar with how to promote a positive climate in a school
Pre-employment Requirements:
• Pennsylvania Criminal Background Check, FBI fingerprinting Background Check, Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance
• Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Release (ACT 168)
• School Personnel Health Record and TB test
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to reach above and below the waist
• Ability to use fingers to pick, feel and grasp objects
• Some stooping, kneeling, bending, and twisting of the body required
• Ability to lift and/or carry supplies weighing no more than 30 lbs.
• Ability to mostly walk with some sitting and standing or moving throughout the work environment
• Ability to provide safe physical management of students when necessary
Level of Compensation: $54,000 to $104,000 (dependent on step and track placement as determined based on collective bargaining agreements).
