The Lockhart ISD Mission The mission of the Lockhart Independent School District is to graduate all of its students as citizens who are educated, productive, and self-fulfilling lifelong learners. Primary Purpose: Provide leadership and coordination to provide an aligned and articulated instructional assessment, accountability, and data analysis program specific to CTE and CCMR for the district. Qualifications: Education/Certification
• Bachelor's degree
• Valid Texas Teaching certificate with a preference for a career and technical education certificate, required licensure, endorsements, and training
Special Knowledge/Skills:
• Working knowledge of curriculum and instruction
• Ability to manage budget and personnel
• Ability to coordinate campus functions
• Ability to interpret policy, procedures, and data
• Strong organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of statutory and regulatory requirements of state assessment
• Knowledge of statutory and regulatory requirements of assessments and state/federal accountability
Major Responsibilities and Duties: Curriculum and Program Management
• Align courses with state standards, industry certifications and workforce demands
• Mentor CTE Teachers, modeling teaching methods and run professional development
• Works with campus leadership to provide observation support, instructional strategy support, professional development to teachers.
• Assist campus leadership in setting the instructional expectations and curriculum use for campus teachers
• Leads the expansion and development of high-quality CTE pathways, including identifying opportunities to add new programs aligned to student interests, workforce needs, and postsecondary opportunities.
Fiscal/Facilities Management
• Organizes, supervises, and manages the financial affairs of programs including support for campus budgets and overall district budgets
• Completes and submits relevant compliance reports
• Follows appropriate administrative guidelines and requisitioning and purchasing procedures.
• Is familiar with the budgetary needs and organizes and prepares an annual budget that incorporates the identified needs
• Manages all school facilities and resources related to CTE programs to ensure access to appropriate, clean, orderly, and safe buildings and materials
• Receives, inventories, and distributes materials to site staff and returns materials to appropriate departments
Communication
• Establish and maintain a professional relationship and open communication with parents, students, colleagues, and community members
• Lead the CTE advisory committee in order to build a program that meets the needs of the community
• Must be able to meet and interact with employees and parents/guardians in routine situations, which require tact, discretion, and courtesy
Professional Growth and Development
• Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills.
• Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required.
• Participates in local, state, and national professional organizations
Compliance and Accountability
• Ensures systems are in place to provide district and campus leadership with disaggregated and timely data reports aligned to district goals and targets.
• Provides support to district and campus leadership regarding CTE and our state accountability system
• Stay updated and inform district and campus personnel on changes to the state accountability system in reference to CTE indicators
• Keep informed of and comply with federal, state, district, and school regulations and policies.
• Comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers.
• Works with campus staff to coordinate and support CTE initiatives.
• Collects and reports pertinent data as needed
Supervisory Responsibilities: None. Working Conditions: Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); coordinate campus support functions; maintain emotional control under stress. Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Occasional district-wide travel; occasional prolonged and irregular hours.
