Special Education Permanent Substitute School-year position 175 student days M.S.A.D. #61 is seeking a dedicated and adaptable Special Education Permanent Substitute to support our Special Education programs this position plays a vital role in ensuring the continuity of instruction and support for students with diverse learning needs. This position may be assigned and moved between our elementary school locations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to collaboration, maintain the highest standards of professionalism, and consistently safeguard student confidentiality. Key Responsibilities: Provide instruction and support to students with special needs in both inclusion and self-contained settings. Collaborate closely with special education teachers, general education staff, related service providers, and administrators to ensure individualized education program (IEP) goals are implemented effectively Maintain a flexible approach to daily assignments, adapting to various classroom environments and student needs. Communicate clearly and professionally with students, staff, and families, respecting boundaries, and privacy at all times. Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all policies related to special education and student records Uphold a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment

Qualifications: High School Diploma (required) MDOE Educational Technician I, II, II Certification (required) Maine DOE Fingerprinting (required) Strong interpersonal and organizational skills (required) Demonstrated commitment to ethical conduct and confidentiality (required Special Education training and experience (preferred) Elementary school level academic work in all subject areas (preferred) Effective classroom management strategies, including establishing and maintaining routines and procedures (preferred) Building and maintaining supportive relationships with students (preferred) Be a team player and have communication skills with students and staff (preferred) Experience working with students with disabilities (preferred) Ability to adapt quickly, remain calm under pressure, and support students with diverse academic and behavioral needs (preferred).
