About this role
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Custodian to join our team. The Custodian will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of the school building and grounds. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. Key Responsibilities:
• Clean and sanitize classrooms, restrooms, common areas, and other designated spaces on a daily basis
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors
• Dust furniture, fixtures, and equipment
• Collect and dispose of trash and recycling
• Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment
• Notify maintenance staff of any repair needs or safety hazards
• Set up and take down tables, chairs, and other equipment for events and meetings
• Follow established cleaning procedures and safety protocols
• Work collaboratively with other custodial staff to ensure efficient and effective operations
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior experience in custodial or maintenance work preferred
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper storage, and disposal methods
• Ability to use and maintain custodial equipment, such as vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and cleaning tools
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with staff, students, and the public
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to lift and move heavy equipment and furniture
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods of time
