About this role

Position Title: Occupational Therapist (Part-Time) Schedule: 4 days per week Location: Wakefield Public Schools Reports To: Director of Special Education and Student Services Position Summary Wakefield Public Schools is seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide school-based occupational therapy services four days per week. The Occupational Therapist will provide services to students with disabilities in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), supporting students' participation, independence, and access to the educational environment through both direct and consultative services. Services may be delivered through push-in (classroom-based) and pull-out settings based on student needs. Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts licensure as an Occupational Therapist.

• Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.

• Experience working with pediatric populations and/or within a school setting preferred.

• Knowledge of IDEA, special education regulations, and IEP development preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct occupational therapy services to students in accordance with their IEPs through both push-in and pull-out service delivery models.

• Evaluate students' fine motor, sensory, visual-motor, and functional skills and complete evaluations and re-evaluations as needed.

• Develop recommendations to support students' participation, independence, and access to the educational environment.

• Collaborate with special education staff, classroom teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families to implement effective interventions and accommodations.

• Participate in IEP Team meetings and contribute to the development of student goals and service recommendations.

• Maintain accurate documentation, service logs, progress reports, and evaluation reports in compliance with state and federal special education regulations.

• Consult with school staff regarding sensory needs, fine motor skills, adaptive equipment, environmental modifications, and strategies to support student success across educational settings.

Position Type: Part-Time Salary: $50,641 - $95,454
