About this role
POSITION: Speech-Language Pathologist SCHOOL: New Fairfield Elementary School RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide speech and language services to students in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs.
• Conduct screenings, assessments, and evaluations to identify students' communication needs.
• Develop appropriate goals, objectives, treatment plans, and progress reports.
• Participate in Planning and Placement Team meetings and collaborate with families, teachers, administrators, and related service providers.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with state and federal special education requirements.
• Support students with a range of communication needs, including articulation, language, fluency, voice, social communication, and augmentative and alternative communication.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the administrator or Director of Pupil Personnel Services.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Appropriate Connecticut certification as a Speech and Language Pathologist.
• Experience working with elementary-aged students is preferred.
• Knowledge of special education procedures, IEP development, assessments, and progress monitoring.
• Strong communication, collaboration, organization, and documentation skills.
SALARY: In accordance with the New Fairfield Education Association collective bargaining agreement; placement commensurate with experience and qualifications.
