About this role
A 1:1 Paraprofessional provides individualized instructional, behavioral, and personal support to a designated student throughout the school day. Working under the direction of the classroom teacher and other educational professionals, this position helps the student access the curriculum, achieve Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals, develop independence, and participate successfully in the school environment. Responsibilities include:
• Provide one-on-one academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support to an assigned student.
• Assist in implementing the student's Individualized Education Program (IEP), behavior intervention plan, and other educational supports.
• Reinforce instruction and learning activities as directed by the classroom teacher and intervention team.
• Support the student's communication, organization, self-regulation, and daily routines.
• Assist with personal care and mobility needs, when required, while maintaining the student's dignity and privacy.
• Monitor student progress and document observations, behaviors, and interventions as required.
• Promote a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
• Supervise the assigned student during classroom instruction, transitions, lunch, recess, transportation, and other school activities as needed.
• Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families to support student success.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with all district policies, procedures, and applicable state and federal regulations.
• Experience with students with disabilities is preferred, but we will train the right candidate
• Must be willing to take Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Training.
