Educational Aide - Complex Needs
• Assists students with physical disabilities according to their needs, including transferring to and from wheelchairs, lifting, or positioning.
• Assists students with physical needs and personal care, including feeding, bathroom needs, and personal hygiene.
• Helps manage the behavior of students.
• Assumes responsibility for learning and adapting to each student's special medical, physical, communicative, and emotional needs.
• Works with individual students or small groups to develop motor skills and conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher.
• Helps supervise students throughout the school day, inside and outside the classroom.
• Keeps the teacher informed of special needs or problems of individual students.
• Protects and maintains the confidentiality of information that pertains to students or staff members.
• Participates in staff development training programs, faculty meetings, and special events as assigned.
• Demonstrates punctuality and good attendance.
• Interactions are supportive, courteous, and respectful with students, parents, staff, community members, and other professionals.
• Complies with all verbal and written directives.
• Responds constructively to supervision and guidance.
• Records documentation as required.
• Demonstrates effective organization in the use of time and resources to carry out assigned duties.
• Helps with the care and maintenance of equipment.
• Provides orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
