About this role
• MUST have either Professional Educator License (PEL) preferred or Substitute Teacher License (STL) required
• Willing to sub in grades K-8 + specials (P.E., Art, Music, Library, etc.)
• Salary: $225/day plus Medical, Dental & Life Insurance, Non-Union, will contribute to TRS
• Location: K-5 or Jr. High Building based on need
• Hours: 7:45-2:50 or 8:20-3:25, Hours vary based on location, 7 hrs/day plus a 45-minute duty free lunch

• Proficient use of computers, including Microsoft Office
• Ability to work professionally with all staff, students and parents.
• Must be willing to sub in grades K-8th and specials
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Instruct students and facilitates their learning in the absence of the regular teacher.
• Provide classroom instruction to students as outlined in lesson plans
• Create a classroom that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students
• Maintain a safe and orderly environment through attentive supervision
• Maintain established routine of the school and classroom procedures in which assigned
• Maintain a professional appearance as an example to students
• Remain at school the entire school day, unless otherwise instructed to leave by building principal
• Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
• Maintain reasonable rules of conduct which encourage self-discipline and responsibility
• Communicate effectively with parents when needed
• Meet and instruct assigned classes in the locations and times designated
• Other duties as assigned by administration.
Anticipate that responsibilities will change or be replaced as technologies are introduced, upgraded, or eliminated. Knowledge of:
• Educational curriculum and instructional goals and objectives, and the educational trends and research findings pertaining to educational programming
• Socio-economic and cultural background differences of the general school population
Ability to:

• Compare records or files rapidly for accuracy
• Operate computers and related forms of technology
• Read, analyze, and interpret lesson plans, technical procedures, and textbooks.

• Work with basic mathematical concepts.
• Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

• Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form and to understand abstract and concrete variables.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works inside. The employee is directly responsible for the safety and well-being of students. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but may be noisy, active and busy at times. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have contact with children. Other than those physical/mental requirements included within the examples of duties: Must be able to communicate effectively. There is constant standing and walking; frequent bending/stooping, squatting/crouching. There is occasional carrying and lifting of up to 50 pounds. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is required to use close vision, distance vision, and depth perception and be able to hear conversations in quiet environments. Mental/Motor Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee rarely performs routine work. The employee frequently exercises flexibility (ability to shift from one task to another). Guidance and reinforcement are infrequently available. The employee frequently works within time constraints and maintains attentiveness intensity. The employee is frequently involved in social interactions which require excellent oral and written communications.
