Description: The Campus Safety Officer (CSO) will support the necessary leadership, coordination and oversight to develop, implement, and maintain the District safety plan and other security related functions within the school district ensuring a safe and secure educational environment to promote academic success. Maintain compliance with State, Federal, local, and District Safety & Security requirements. The CSO will assist in the supervision of the building-level emergency response programs. The CSO will collaborate with District and building administrators and staff to provide the necessary education and training to ensure the general welfare and safety for all students and staff. In conjunction with the supervisor, the CSO supports the school crisis response programs in cooperation with the community and emergency service providers. This is a non-represented position. • High School diploma
• Pass required trainings – WA HB1214 mandated training for school security personnel
• Current or the ability to obtain First Aid/CPR/AED certifications
• Possess a valid Washington State Driver's License with a demonstrated safe driving record.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Bilingual in Spanish
• Knowledge of security procedures
• Ability to maintain records.
• May assist in student discipline in accordance with district policies and procedures.
• Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with local law enforcement agencies.

REPORTS TO Director of Support Services SUPERVISES None RESPONSIBILITIES
• Display ethical and professional behavior and all times
• Provide supervision of parking lots.
• Provide supervision of hallways and campus areas.
• Assist Administrators with discipline related situations.
• Provide supervision of students in a variety of settings.
• Assist with fact-finding for discipline related situations.
• Confront misbehavior on and around campus.
• Maintain records of non-student and other contacts that may be important to campus safety.
• Work with staff when appropriate.
• Ability to interpret as needed if the individual possesses multiple language skills.
• Exhibit excellent attendance and punctuality.
• Other duties as assigned by the Building Principal, Director of Support Services, and/or Superintendent.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, or consistent with the subject being taught, but can be abnormally loud on occasion. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally work in outside weather conditions and be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, temperature fluctuations, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals commonly used in instruction and/or cleaning. It may be expected that the individual could be exposed to blood or other potentially infectious materials during the course of their duties. The employee may be exposed to infectious disease as carried by students. The employee may be required to travel in school owned or leased vehicles while supervising and assisting students.
