Blessed Maria Cross Country Coach Job Description The mission of the Cedar Valley Catholic Schools is to provide an exceptional Catholic education to every student built on the foundation of faith, discipline, knowledge and service. Overview : The cross country coach is responsible for leading and managing the cross country program at Blessed Maria Assunta Pallotta Middle School. This individual will play a key role in developing athletes' skills, fostering a positive team culture, and promoting sportsmanship. Responsibilities: Player Development:

• Design and implement effective training programs to enhance athletes' skills.

• Provide individualized coaching to players, addressing technical aspects.

• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and dedication to excellence.

Team Management:

• Plan and organize team practices, ensuring a balance of skill development, fitness, and strategy.

• Manage player rosters, ensuring fair playing time and appropriate team dynamics.

• Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, expectations, and strategies.

Competition and Scheduling:

• Coordinate the team's participation in competitions, tournaments, and matches.

• Develop and implement game strategies based on the strengths and weaknesses of the team and opponents.

• Collaborate with the Athletic Director to create a competitive and balanced schedule.

Athlete Support:

• Provide guidance and support to athletes in both their academic and athletic pursuits.

• Foster a positive and inclusive team environment that promotes teamwork, respect, and good sportsmanship.

• Encourage athletes to maintain high standards of conduct on and off the field.

Equipment and Facilities:

• Ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and in good working order.

• Coordinate with the activities department to secure necessary facilities for practices and competitions.

• Monitor and address safety concerns related to equipment and facilities.

Communication:

• Communicate regularly with players, parents, and school administrators to provide updates on team activities.

• Collaborate with the athletic department to promote the softball program within the school and community.

• Respond promptly to inquiries and concerns from players and parents.

Qualifications:

• Active coaching license or able to obtain one by the start of the season

• Previous coaching experience, preferably in cross country.

• Extensive knowledge of the rules and techniques of cross country.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to motivate and inspire athletes.

• Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team culture.
