Job Summary: The Maintenance Engineer III is a senior-level, hands-on role responsible for advanced repair, maintenance, and safe operation of building systemsincluding structural, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and refrigerationacross district facilities. The position leads complex troubleshooting, performs preventive and corrective maintenance, supports energy management systems, and ensures compliance with applicable codes, licenses, and safety standards while delivering responsive, high-quality customer service to schools and departments.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Licensed journeyman electrician and licensed journeyman plumber preferred. Certified for backflow testing; fire sprinkler certification; EPA certification (refrigerant handling). HVAC equipment repairs. Holds or can obtain a contractor's license; Building Operators Certificate (obtain when available). Five (5) to ten (10) years of experience in building operations, maintenance, and construction. Valid driver's license and insurable driving record.
Working Conditions: 8 hours per day, 5 days per week and 260 days per year. Per salary schedule at Lakota, starting at $25.16 per hour, based on verified previous experience. View the attached job description for further information.
