About this role

Job summary Join our experienced Cardiology team as a Lead Cardiac Physiologist, providing expert clinical support across the Cardiac Cath Lab and Outpatient Department.

Main duties of the job Duties and Responsibilities, including but not limited to:

Demonstrate highly developed knowledge and skills in a broad range of cardiology investigations. Perform a wide range complex or advanced procedures, as requested by the clinician in the following Clinical Physiology fields: Electrophysiology, Cardiac Rhythm Management, Cardiac Catheter Lab intervention and non-invasive Cardiac Physiology. Perform relevant procedures at independent practitioner level. Perform these procedures in a number of settings and sometimes under difficult or stressful conditions e.g. ITU, Cath Lab, patient rooms, outpatient department. Follow departmental guidelines and protocols for each procedure relevant to the post ensuring quality control. Participate in technical appraisal of cardiac physiology capital equipment and consumables by evaluating equipment and providing expert technical advice and audit the use of current cardiac physiology equipment. Delegate roles and responsibilities to cardiac physiologists within the department where applicable.

Lead and Develop a High-Performing Cardiology Service

Spire St Anthony's Hospital is looking for an experienced Lead Cardiac Physiologist to join our established Cardiology team. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and motivated cardiac professional to provide expert clinical leadership while delivering outstanding patient care across our Cardiac Catheter Lab and Cardiology Outpatient Departments.

As Lead Cardiac Physiologist, you'll bring advanced clinical expertise across a broad range of invasive and non-invasive cardiac investigations, supporting patients throughout their diagnostic and treatment journey. You'll also play a key role in the day-to-day leadership of the physiology team, helping to maintain high clinical standards, drive service excellence and support the ongoing development of colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

Provide specialist clinical expertise across a broad range of cardiac physiology investigations and procedures.Perform and independently report advanced procedures within electrophysiology, cardiac rhythm management, cardiac catheterisation and non-invasive cardiology.Support patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures in a variety of clinical settings.Ensure departmental policies, protocols and quality standards are consistently maintained.Provide leadership and support to Cardiac Physiologists working across the department.Contribute to the evaluation, implementation and ongoing assessment of cardiac physiology equipment and consumables.Work collaboratively with cardiologists, nursing teams and wider multidisciplinary colleagues to deliver safe, effective and patient-centred care.

Who We're Looking For Degree in Clinical Physiology (Cardiology) or equivalent qualification.Significant experience within cardiac physiology, including angiography, electrophysiology and cardiac rhythm management.Experience supporting cardiac catheter lab procedures and pacemaker therapies.Strong clinical knowledge with the ability to work autonomously and make informed decisions.Excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills.A commitment to delivering outstanding patient care and clinical excellence.
