We are looking to appoint a Band 6 Specialist Nurse/Practitioner to our CAMHS Crisis and Intensive Home Treatment Team. This is an exciting opportunity for mental health and learning disability nurses/social workers with experience of mental health to progress their skills working within Crisis and Intensive Home Treatment and CAMHS.

The CAMHS Crisis and Intensive Home Treatment Team provides a 24/7 community crisis service for young people up to the age of 18 years, and the team works long day, long twilight and night shifts to support this. The team also provides intensive intervention, home treatment and in-reach into the CAMHS inpatient/acute hospital setting.

The team includes a Clinical Team Leader, Clinical Leads, an Advanced Clinical Practitioner, a Consultant Psychologist, a Speciality Doctor, Specialist Nurses/Practitioners, Registered Nurses, Nursing Associates and Healthcare Assistants.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will have strong engagement skills, excellent communication skills, and some experience of working collaboratively with other agencies and professions.

The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and undertake the crisis assessment of young people, develop care plans, and provide psychological interventions in relation to the young person's presenting need. They will also lead and supervise interventions provided by junior staff.

The CAMHS Crisis and Intensive Home Treatment Team works closely with our CAMHS Inspire Inpatient Service and will support young people whilst they are inpatients to facilitate early discharge. Therefore, the successful candidate will be provided with additional training with regard to inpatient working to support this joint working.

Experience of working with young people with emotional or mental health difficulties, or working in a mental health urgent care, crisis or intensive setting, is essential.

Person Specification

Qualifications, Education and Training Essential

Registration with the HCPC/NMC or equivalent A broad understanding of relevant policy, legislation drivers and their application to clinical practice and service

Desirable

Evidence of current CPD/formal qualifications at an advanced level e.g. degree or post graduate level or equivalent knowledge/experiential learning Diagnostic training Willingness to consider undertaking the training required to be a Practice Placements for students.

Skills, Competencies and Personal Qualities Essential

Able to demonstrate effective inter personal/communication skills Ability to demonstrate ethical values and attitudes within a culture of equality and diversity

Desirable

Awareness of leadership/management skills and qualities

Knowledge and Experience Essential
