Job summary
We would like to invite you to apply for an exciting opportunity that has arisen in our General and Specialist Medicine division. We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated candidates to apply for a Senior Clinical Fellow post (equivalent to minimum CT3/ST3 or higher). This role is not recognised as a formal training post; however, the training opportunities will be similar to those at ST3+ level training posts.
Applicants should ideally have at least 6 months experience working in the UK.

Main duties of the job
Daily ward rounds Take part in the GIM on-call rota In-reach to other wards Outpatient clinics Supervising the work of the foundation doctors Completing audits and quality improvement projects Professional development and study leave will be available to successful applicant
We have posts available in 3 specialties - dependant on which specialty you are assigned, you will receive the below specialty specific training opportunities:
- Diabetes and Endocrinology; You will receive training and development in diabetic foot, antenatal, young adults/transition diabetes.
- Respiratory; You will have the opportunity to perform practical procedures including Bronchoscopy and pleural procedures with appropriate supervision as needed. TWR and general Respiratory clinics.
- Gastroenterology, where you will gain experience in endoscopic procedures such as OGD, Colonoscopy & Flexi--sigmoidoscopy. There will be many opportunities for developing practical Gastroenterology skills.

Job description Job responsibilities
Participate in regular on-call commitments for General Medicine at St Peters on a full-shift rota.
Provide both in-patient and out-patient care for patients in accordance with the Trusts contractual obligations.
Participate in the supervision and training of junior medical staff and offer guidance and advice to the wider MDT.
Maintain accurate record keeping for every patient seen and communication made with General Practitioners and other agencies.
Keep up to date in advances in current knowledge and practice.
Work with and implement service policies, guidelines and protocols.
Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
MRCP 1 with confirmed date for MRCP 2 at the time of application Be eligible for full registration with, and hold a current licence to practice from, the GMC at the advertised post start date
Experience Essential
Evidence of experience in a range of acute medical specialties, with experience of Managing patients on unselected medical take during core training or equivalent Able to work without direct supervision where appropriate
