Job summary

Due to retirement, White House Surgery is seeking a friendly, organised, and professional Medical Secretary to join our busy practice team.

We are seeking a dedicated and highly organised person to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide a comprehensive medical secretarial service, supporting our clinical team and ensuring the smooth administration of patient referrals and correspondence.

Duties

Processing referrals and managing appointments

Typing and handling clinical correspondence

Liaising with hospitals, community services, and patients

Managing incoming and outgoing communications

Maintaining accurate patient records

Providing administrative support to GPs and the wider clinical team

Handle incoming calls, inquiries, and correspondence promptly, providing clear information and assistance to patients and visitors.

Maintain accurate and confidential medical records in compliance with privacy regulations.

White House Surgery is a friendly, supportive and patient focused GP Practice based in Moreton-in-Marsh. We have a population of just over 5000 patients across the North Cotswolds.

We are a member of the North Cotswold Primary Care Network (PCN), and work closely with four neighbouring practices to deliver enhanced services and improve patient care across the local community, including, First Contact Physio, Mental Health Nurse, Clinical Pharmacist, Wellbeing Coach, Womens Health Clinics, Travel clinics and more.

Situated on the border of four counties, our practice benefits from a rural setting while maintaining links with surrounding towns and healthcare partners.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal to interact confidently with patients, staff, and external providers. Understands the importance of confidentiality and professionalism

Desirable

Has previous administrative or secretarial experience (medical or NHS experience desirable but not essential) Familiarity with medical terminology, healthcare regulations, and confidentiality standards is advantageous.
