Job summary

Guru Nanak and Botwell MedicalCentre are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to support our clinical team in delivering outstanding patient care. Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities

Undertake NHS Health Checks. Record clinical observations including:Blood pressure

Height and weight

BMI

Pulse

Oxygen saturation

Temperature

Perform venepuncture/phlebotomy. Carry out ECGs. Undertake new patient health checks. Support chronic disease monitoring clinics. Assist with smoking cessation, health promotion and lifestyle advice. Undertake wound care and dressings following appropriate training and competency assessment. Conduct urinalysis and specimen management. Administer vaccinations where trained and delegated. Ensure clinical rooms are stocked, maintained and prepared. Maintain accurate patient records using the clinical system. Support infection prevention and control procedures. Participate in quality improvement and audit activities. Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with information governance requirements.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Healthcare Assistant to join our friendly multidisciplinary team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about healthcare and wishes to develop their career in Primary Care.

Main Duties of the Role

The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Practice Nurses and GPs to provide clinical and administrative support services, ensuring the delivery of safe and effective patient care.

What We Are Looking For

Desirable Criteria

NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care, Healthcare Support, or equivalent experience.

Experience working in a healthcare setting.

Competent in phlebotomy.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Basic IT skills and experience using clinical systems.

Understanding patient confidentiality and safeguarding responsibilities.

Ability to manage workload effectively and work independently.

Experience working in General Practice.

Desirable Criteria

Experience working in General Practice.

Experience conducting NHS Health Checks.

Knowledge of System One software

Punjabi, Hindi, Gujarati or Arabic language skills

Experience supporting patients with long-term conditions.

Care Certificate qualification.

Basic Life Support training.
