We have a fantastic opportunity for a Business Administrator to join our team at Leicestershire Health Informatics.

The Administrative Officer within the Health Informatics Service (HIS) provides comprehensive administrative and customer support to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the department.

The role involves processing IT equipment orders, managing invoices, maintaining accurate records and databases, liaising with suppliers, and ensuring compliance with financial and procurement procedures.

The post holder plays a key role in supporting managers and technical staff by undertaking administrative duties, enabling them to focus on delivering core services.

Excellent organisational, communication, and customer service skills are essential to ensure a high-quality service is provided to both internal and external stakeholders.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will posses excellent IT and audio-typing skills, good written and verbal communication skills, the ability to liaise with service users in a calm and compassionate manner and the ability to work positively and proactively as part of the wider administrative and clinical teams.

As a Business Administrator, you will be required to process IT equipment orders and internal HIS orders within agreed service level timescales.

You will be planning and organising training, appointments and events which will include co-ordinating travel arrangements and guest speakers.

You will place orders within authorised spending limits and in accordance with procurement regulations.

You will obtain quotations and ensure purchasing activities comply with Standing Orders and Standing Financial Instructions.

You will check that goods and services supplied meet contractual requirements and agreed specifications.

You will be dealing with complaints and using your own initiative to solve problems and escalating where necessary.
