Job SummaryThe Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Manager reports directly to the Medical Center's Executive Director. The incumbent serves as the EEO Manager providing planning, development, implementation, evaluation and monitoring of EEO Programs at the John D. Dingell VA Medical Center.

QualificationsTo qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 08/20/2026. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-12 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-11. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. You may qualify based on your experience as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-11 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Major DutiesThe duties of the Equal Employment Opportunity Manager includes but is not limited to: Serves as consultant to management officials at the facility level relevant to EEO and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Manages the medical center's EEO Programs Conduct EEO Training for all managers and supervisors Serves on and assumes a leadership role on committees Identifies EEO related training needs for the medical center Serves as a subject-matter expert and participates in the administrative review process at the facility level Apprises medical center officials of trends, policies and practices that may have an impact on the workplace environment Prepares reference materials to ensure EEO program is communicated to the workforce. Assures formal complaints are processed within established time limits and in accordance with published regulations and policies. Manages a total equal employment opportunity program that meets basic requirements for complying with laws, regulations and agency policies. The EEO Manager supervises and assigns work to the EEO Program Coordinator Participates in projects, workgroups and/or subcommittees relevant to the EEO Program Develops relevant data into reports/recommendations for the Medical Center Director on performance improvement for the facility EEO Programs Work Schedule: Monday thru Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
