The Screen-out Element for this position is: THE ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION. Your resume must show that you have the ability to perform common tasks including:1) Troubleshooting defective components in such subsystems as ignition, emission, electronic and computer controlled systems, injection systems.2) Installing and aligning internal combustion engines, hoisting machinery and related equipment.3) Installing a variety of parts, components, and accessories such as filters, radiators, bearings, springs, shock absorbers, wheel cylinders, starter motors, mufflers, and other items of similar complexity.4) Reading and interpreting parts lists, manufacturers' repair manuals, diagrams, and electrical schematics.5) Utilizing basic tools common to the occupation (e.g., wrenches, sockets, torque wrenches, brake tools, and screwdrivers). Major DutiesYou will diagnose, troubleshoot, remove, adjust, modify, repair, or replace defective components in sub-systems such as ignition, emission, electronic and computer controlled systems, injection systems, or overhauling various operating mechanisms.You will repair, overhaul, and rebuild attachments and other utility systems on various heavy equipment.You will disassemble diesel or gasoline engines as necessary and inspect repairs or replace such parts as injection valves, cylinder sleeves, pistons, rings, connecting rods, bearings, gaskets, and crankshafts.You will repair tracks, drivers, rollers, sprockets, hoisting units and other working attachments on all equipment including but not limited to cranes, bulldozers, and tractors.
