QualificationsYour resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Advising service members and family members on Transition Assistance Program (TAP) and employment services; 2) Facilitating the TAP and employment supportive programs, to include the Family Employment Readiness Program (FERP) and services and providing support to installation, and regional TAP and employment initiatives, and promoting family readiness; 3) Facilitating training courses and explaining course materials and their relevance and applicability to service members and their families; 4) Advising separated service members and their families on veterans' benefits to include medical, educational, employment, and finances. Major DutiesYou will Facilitate and provide the full scope of operational management and oversight of TAP services for transitioning military members and/or family members, retirees, reservists, and Department of Defense (DOD) civilian members.You will facilitate classes for customers on applying professional analytical skills and negotiation techniques to identify job opportunities and develop an automated inventory to list such job opportunities.You will assist clients with creating and maintaining their Individual Transition Plan (IDP) and identifying personal and vocational needs to help them outline milestones to achieve their goals.You will provide volunteers with opportunities to learn job skills, advance their career path, and expand the ability of the FFSC to deliver services through in-house use of volunteers.You will handle complaints on behalf of management amongst volunteers and between volunteers and staff.You will coordinate all aspects of community outreach to installation, command, and community partners, encourage participation in FFSC volunteer opportunities, develop and implement annual community outreach plan.You will maintain a library or resource center of current TAP and FERP information, curriculum, and resources and provide service members with authorized physical or digital materials.You will research and write articles and prepare and deliver briefings to market TAP and FERP and inform target population of programs and services.
