QualificationsGS-11 One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-09) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. GS-11 Specialized experience is defined as: enforcing site-specific Physical, Operational, Information, Industrial, and Special Security plans and policies to regulate access to sensitive, controlled unclassified/classified information throughout its life cycle, analyzing complex information security problems and mission vulnerabilities and review the results of information security violations/inquiries and briefing senior leadership on findings and corrective actions. You may qualify for consideration if meeting specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.

Major DutiesResponsible for the development, publication, execution, enforcement, and implementation of site-specific PHYSEC, OPSEC, INFOSEC, SPECSEC, INDOSEC policies, plans, and programs to protect government information.Conducts annual information security (INFOSEC) program reviews and analyzes identified weaknesses or systemic security problems to modify, develop, and apply effective corrective solutions.Develops processes and recommendations to prevent the compromise, loss, unauthorized access, disclosure, or destruction of sensitive, controlled unclassified (CUI), and classified information.Monitors the site-wide mandatory review and creation of classified information and oversees the construction and certification of secure rooms for open storage.Establishes and implements an effective site-wide security education program, providing initial, continuous, and refresher training to all military, civilian, and on-site contractor personnel.
