Job SummaryAbout the Position: This position is located in southwest Germany in the Rhineland-Pfalz Palatinate. Sembach is about a 90-minute drive from the French border and about a 90-minute drive from Frankfurt International Airport. Rhineland-Pfalz is home to a large concentration of US DoW service-members, DoW civilians and their family members in what is called the Kaiserslautern Military Community (KMC) consisting of several US military bases (kasernes).

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes coordinating and preparing transportation planning, pre-deployment activities, movement, and joint reception, staging, onward movement, and integration of U.S. Forces throughout the theater. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Major DutiesYou will serves as the 598th Transportation Brigade’s senior transportation planner for exercises and unit movements under the general direction of the Chief of Future Operations and Plans.You will plan, develop, and/or implement plans affecting the introduction via strategic sea-lift of U.S. Forces into the European Theater.You will use the transportation aspects of JOPES (Joint Operations, Planning and Execution System) to direct and integrate products into the Transportation BDE/HQ ARTRANS and USTRANSCOM supporting planning efforts.You will direct and coordinate short and long range planning policies and procedures.You will review all mission analysis and concept of operations plans to ensure mission capability.You will analyze movement tables and ARTRANS/TEA port capability studies to ensure realistic transportation plans are developed and integrated into future operations planning.You will provide guidance and assistance to subordinates' activities concerning planning and future operations for seaport logistics.You will serve as the Transportation Brigade's (BDE’s) Point of Contact (POC) for unit moves, exercises and strategic sealift issues and future operations and exercise issues in their AOR.
