Job SummaryThis is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for certain personnel of the DoD workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serve as a Supervisory Police Officer for the Directorate of Emergency Services at Fort Huachuca, AZ. This is an obligated position.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Conducting investigations into alleged/suspected violations in accordance with laws and ordinances; 2) Responding to crime scenes to collect and preserve evidence; AND 3) Preparing case records to include investigation findings and recommendations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08).

Major DutiesServe as a Shift Supervisor for the Law Enforcement force assigned under the authority of the Senior Commander at IMCOM supported installations.Supervisory Police Officers are responsible for responses to and investigates emergency calls, complaints and other calls for service.Appear in court to testify as required in Military Court Martials or Federal and State Court proceedings.Operate the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) terminal in accordance with federal and state laws to transcribe data.Perform supervisory and administrative duties relating to the police force.Assign work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees.
