Job Requirements Position Summary The Training and Quality Coordinator supports EMS training, quality assurance, and professional development through a deep understanding of the specialized field of emergency medicine. Key responsibilities include developing training programs, managing onboarding, conducting competency evaluations, and overseeing recertification processes. The role ensures compliance with clinical standards, updates Clinical Operating Guidelines, and provides mentorship and real-time coaching to EMS staff. This position requires expertise in EMS operations, training methods, and quality improvement to enhance service delivery. Minimum Requirements Education • Associate degree in Emergency Medical Services, Healthcare, Education, or a related field. Experience • At least 3 years of EMS experience, with exposure to education or quality assurance activities. License/Registration/Certifications • Current certification as a Paramedic (National Registry). • Instructor certifications (or obtained within six months of hire): o BLS o ACLS o PALS o PHTLS or ITLS • Level 1: Continuing Education Program instructorship Other/Skills • Solid understanding of EMS operations, training practices, and quality improvement concepts. • Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and reporting tools. Preferred Requirements Preferred Education • Bachelor's degree in EMS, Healthcare Administration, Education, or a related field. Preferred Experience • Experience in conducting EMS training sessions and guiding quality improvement initiatives. • Familiarity with policy development and patient care report review processes. Preferred License/Registration/Certifications • Advanced instructor certifications: o Level 3: EMT Instructor o Level 4: AEMT Instructor o Level 5: Paramedic Instructor • Certification in Quality Improvement processes: o Six Sigma o Lean Other/Skills

• Experience with electronic patient care reporting systems and data analysis. • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment and provide constructive feedback. Core Job Responsibilities • Develop Comprehensive Training Strategies o Design, develop and implement comprehensive educational strategies for ongoing Inservice (IST) education for current EMS personnel, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. o Using original research, create and maintain training curricula, lesson plans, and evaluation tools in alignment with professional and operational standards. o Coordinate logistics for continuing education programs, including scheduling, materials preparation, and attendee tracking. o Ensure alignment of CEU offerings with organizational needs and individual professional development goals. • Ensure Quality Assurance (QA) Compliance with Clinical Standards o Conduct regular reviews of patient care reports and clinical documentation to ensure adherence to medical protocols and quality benchmarks. o Coordinate the activities of the SEMS QA Team. o Formulate solutions targeted at training and remediation of gaps in clinical performance. • Certify and Credential EMS Personnel o Manage the re-certification and licensure process of SEMS personnel ensuring compliance with state and national requirements. • Develop and Implement New Hire Onboarding Strategies o Manage the complex process of new employee orientation from inception to completion. o Develop and evaluate training methodologies to address new hire clinical deficiencies. • Conduct Lead Competency Evaluations o Oversee the design and execution of EMT and Paramedic lead testing evaluations through a deep understanding of the skills needed to function in a lead capacity. o Formulate solutions and pathways to success for associates who unsuccessfully demonstrate competency during lead evaluation testing or who demonstrate poor performance in the field. • Serve as a Liaison with Field Staff o Act as a point of contact for field staff regarding training needs and quality concerns. o Provide real-time coaching and guidance to EMS personnel during shifts, as necessary. o Using extensive expertise, mentor, and coach SEMS personnel to foster professional growth and leadership development. • Clinical Operating Guidelines Maintenance and Development o Oversee the maintenance and development of the SEMS Clinical Operating Guidelines through independent research and designing strategies while complying with state and national standards. • Vehicle Operation Training and Remediation o Using extensive knowledge of emergency vehicle operations, design, coordinate, and implement departmental training to promote a culture of vehicle operational safety. o Evaluate associates identified as having made poor vehicle operational decisions and offer insight on the associate's abilities and potential for remediation. o Formulate a pathway to success and track the performance of associates in remedial vehicle operation training. • Other Responsibilities and Duties as Assigned
