About the Team A Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) department has been initiated who’s mission is to bridge the gap between strategic and operational planning. The S&OP department are part of the Thales Netherlands One Naval (TN-Naval) organization, principally based out of Hengelo, The Netherlands.

About your future job In the role of S&OP Planner - Engineering you are a key player helping contribute to the within the monthly S&OP demand and capacity cycle. You are responsible for the delivery of the S&OP demand and supply plan for the Engineering Segment of TN-Naval. Engineering is by far the biggest segment of TN-Naval with greater than 500 employees working in Hengelo and partners located at different entities in Europe.

The S&OP demand & Supply plan aims to balance Engineering workload demand across the various inputs streams (Bids, committed projects, Industry Products, Internal department activities) and compared with the versus available projected staffing capacity of the Engineering department and its sub-disciplines. You are to engagement the stakeholders of the S&OP department, Engineering and TN-Naval to ensure the process is followed, the input demand workload is secured and o provide summarized demand vs capacity data/ forecasts to the stakeholders for review, commitment and for the basis of subsequent decisions to be taken by Management. Where required, you are expected to prepare scenarios for sharing amongst the stakeholders as mitigations to close any visible headcount or skills gaps and present these the S&OP Engineering management team to take action.

Last but definitely not least, you initiate, lead or contribute to improvements of the S&OP process, data capture and reporting to stakeholders.

Main tasks and responsibilities

• Owner of the S&OP Demand and Supply plan - Engineering; • Delivery of the monthly supply plan for the S&OP Cycle consisting of the capacity graphs, resource plan and scenarios to balance demand and supply; • Monitoring execution of chosen scenarios and/or actions as a result of the S&OP cycle; • Organizing supply plan (review) meetings with the Engineering MT; • Be a business partner of Engineering Segment managers in the resolution of their mid-term capacity issues; • Driver of continuous improvement of the supply plan and process for Engineering to drive to a higher maturity.

Minimum Viable Experience You would be a good match if you have the following education, expertise and skills:

• Master or Bachelor level (HBO/WO), preferably Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, and/or Production; • Engineering experience or qualification in an Engineering discipline highly desirable • 5-10 years’ experience in an Engineering, Manufacturing or Technological Organization; • Knowledge and experience with BI tooling and/ Anaplan; • Proactive, driven and committed character • Structured, process-oriented, Agile and self aware; • Excellent communicator and ability to engage stakeholders at all levels of an organisation. • Good combination of social, analytical and conceptual skills; • Diligent, forward thinker, strategic thinker, collaborative, team player. • You feel comfortable to work in a volatile and challenging environment where quality and format of source data, tooling, creating scenario’s and reporting is still in development. • Ability to communicate in Dutch and English.
