WellSouth Primary Health Network is seeking an experienced Communications and Marketing Manager to lead our external profile across Otago and Southland. The role spans strategy, marketing and campaigns, media and issues, digital channels and brand, and it will suit a senior practitioner who wants to use the full range of their craft in a values-based organisation.

Position Purpose:

In this role you will develop and refine WellSouth's communications and marketing strategy with the Senior Leadership Team and turn it into an annual plan setting out audiences, channels, campaigns, budget and measures.

You will actively promote WellSouth's services and programmes to the public, general practice, providers and partners. You will design and deliver integrated campaigns, and evaluate whether promotion is achieving its goals.

You will own WellSouth's social media and digital channels end to end, including the content calendar, publishing, paid social, moderation and monthly performance reporting. You will keep our website current, accurate and accessible, and produce the material that carries the WellSouth story, including case studies, short-form video, photography and graphics.

You will be WellSouth's first point of contact for media, generating proactive coverage and managing enquiries and issues alongside the CEO and COO. You will manage the WellSouth brand so everything the public sees is consistent, accessible, clinically accurate, and reflects our Te Tiriti obligations and equity commitments. You will lead our Communications Advisors and external supplier panel and manage a defined marketing and campaign budget.

What are we looking for:

A confident, hands-on senior practitioner who can hold an organisation's public voice and market its services with measurable results. You will be as comfortable pitching a story to a journalist as you are reading campaign analytics or editing a short video, and you will be out in the region building the relationships that generate profile.

About you. To be successful in this role you will:

• Have a tertiary qualification in marketing, communications, journalism or public relations

• Have at least five years in a senior communications, marketing or public relations role, with externally facing campaigns you can point to and results you can explain

• Have run social media for an organisation rather than contributed to it, including paid social and analytics

• Have experience with media at local and national level, and experience commissioning agencies and managing a marketing budget

• Bring, or able able to build quickly in-depth knowledge of the New Zealand health sector and the current reforms

• Have a sound understanding of and commitment to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and their application to the health sector

• Hold a full driver's licence. The role involves regular travel across Otago and Southland and some evening and weekend work for events and media
