Help shape how data creates better outcomes for people and communities.

At Infoxchange, we believe technology can be a powerful force for social justice.

Infoxchange is a leading not-for-profit social enterprise that has been delivering technology for social justice for over 35 years.

We tackle the biggest social challenges through the smart and creative use of technology. We work with community, government and corporate partners to solve issues around homelessness, family violence, mental health, disability as well as supporting families, women and young people. Every day, our products and services support not-for-profits, community organisations and social enterprises to improve the lives of people experiencing disadvantage.

As we continue to grow our impact, we are investing in a significant organisation-wide priority: treating data as a strategic asset that helps us better understand our customers, strengthen trust, improve decision-making and maximise our social impact.

We're seeking expressions of interest from people who are excited by the opportunity to help shape this work.

About the Role

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Data Strategist & Program Lead will lead the initial phase of Infoxchange's Data as a Strategic Asset Program.

Working closely with leaders across the organisation, you will help establish a practical vision, governance approach and roadmap for how Infoxchange manages, understands and uses data. You will work across people, processes and technology to identify opportunities for improvement, strengthen data stewardship and support better organisational decision-making.

Importantly, this work is focused not only on improving internal capability, but on enabling better outcomes for our customers and contributing to broader sector understanding and impact.

In this role you will

• Develop a clear vision and strategic framework for treating data as a trusted organisational asset.

• Lead a review of priority data assets, systems and information practices across Infoxchange.

• Establish practical governance, stewardship and privacy approaches that are proportionate and fit for purpose.

• Facilitate engagement and alignment across teams, business units and leadership groups.

• Support the development of customer-centric insight products and priority use cases.

• Help clarify how customer and organisational data can be used ethically, responsibly and lawfully.

• Develop a practical roadmap for implementation and future capability development.

• Establish forums and processes that build long-term data capability across the organisation.

About You

You are someone who can see both the strategic opportunity and the practical realities of working with data.

You will bring:

• Experience developing data strategies, governance frameworks or information management approaches.

• Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills.

• The ability to translate complexity into practical and achievable actions.

• An understanding of privacy, data ethics and responsible data practices.

• Experience working across diverse stakeholder groups and competing priorities.

• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to engage executives, technical specialists and business leaders.

Experience within the not-for-profit, community, government or social impact sectors is highly regarded, but not essential.
