About this role

Role Overview:

The Asia Investor Group on Climate Change (AIGCC) is seeking an experienced investment and climate professional to join its Investor Practice team. The role will work with leading asset owners and asset managers across Asia to strengthen the integration of climate risks, opportunities and net zero considerations into investment strategy, portfolio management and capital allocation. The role will lead several of AIGCC’s flagship investor practice initiatives, including the State of Investor Climate Transition research programme, AIGCC’s contribution to The Investor Agenda, and regional implementation and coordination of the Net Zero Asset Managers (NZAM) initiative.

The successful candidate will combine strong analytical and research capabilities with an understanding of the institutional investment landscape. They will be comfortable engaging senior investment professionals, managing complex multi-market projects, working with international partners, and translating global climate investment frameworks into practical approaches relevant to Asian investors.

The role reports to the Director of Investor Practice and works closely with AIGCC’s Policy, Corporate Engagement, Communications and Membership teams, as well as global investor network partners.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

State of Investor Climate Transition – Research & Report

Lead AIGCC’s flagship State of Investor Climate Transition research programme, assessing how institutional investors across Asia are integrating climate considerations into investment governance, strategy and portfolio implementation.

• Lead the research, analysis, authorship and delivery of reports and associated market and thematic insights.

• Manage quantitative and qualitative analysis

• Assess investor progress

• Identify regional and market-level trends and translate findings into practical insights and recommendations for institutional investors.

The Investor Agenda

Lead and coordinate AIGCC’s contribution to The Investor Agenda, working with global investor network partners to strengthen investor action on climate change.

• Represent AIGCC within relevant Investor Agenda working groups and coordination structures.

• Contribute an Asia-Pacific investor perspective to global strategy, research, methodologies and investor guidance.

Net Zero Asset Managers & Net Zero Investor Practice

Coordinate AIGCC’s work relating to the Net Zero Asset Managers (NZAM) initiative and broader net zero investor implementation across Asia.

• Act as a key regional point of contact for Asian investors participating in global net zero initiatives and support them with climate target setting, portfolio implementation and progress reporting.

• Coordinate with global investor network partners on NZAM strategy, implementation, governance and reporting

• Analyse investor commitments, targets and progress to identify regional trends and areas where additional guidance or capacity building is required.

As Needed Project Management

• Support the planning, coordination and delivery of ad hoc projects and strategic initiatives as required.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

• Approximately 8 years of relevant professional experience, ideally within institutional investment, investment consulting, sustainable finance, climate finance or a related field.

• Demonstrated knowledge of climate change,net zero investing and/or transition finance.

• Strong research and analytical skills

• Excellent written English and communication skills

• Strong presentation and stakeholder-management skills

• Demonstrated project-management skills

• Ability to work independently, take ownership of projects and operate effectively within a collaborative international team.
