Role Summary:

The Field Consultant will support the planning, coordination, and day-to-day execution of field operations for ongoing projects in Bengaluru. The role will work closely with the Field Operations and Research teams to ensure that field activities are planned well, teams are coordinated effectively, and data collection is completed smoothly and on time. The role will involve regular coordination with enumerators, supervisors, participants, factories/units, and other field stakeholders. The Field Consultant will also maintain survey dashboards and trackers, monitor field progress, identify gaps or operational challenges, and support the team in resolving issues on the ground. The person should be comfortable with field-based work, travelling to both urban and rural units as required, managing multiple field activities at the same time, and taking ownership of day-to-day operational challenges while ensuring adherence to study protocols and timelines.

Who are you?

Ideally, you have:

• 1–3 years of experience in field operations, survey implementation, social impact, research, or a related field.

• Experience coordinating field teams, surveyors, community members, participants, or other field stakeholders.

• Good understanding of day-to-day field operations, including planning, follow-ups, field visits, and troubleshooting.

• Strong coordination and communication skills, with the ability to work with different teams and stakeholders.

• Comfortable taking ownership of tasks and resolving operational challenges independently.

• Good organisational skills and ability to manage multiple activities and timelines.

• Comfortable working with Google Sheets/Excel and maintaining survey trackers and dashboards.

• Experience with SurveyCTO or other digital data-collection tools is an advantage.

• Willingness to travel to both urban and rural field locations as required.

• Good spoken and written English. Knowledge of Kannada and/or Hindi is an advantage.

• Attention to detail and ability to follow field protocols and maintain data quality.

What will you do?

• Support the planning and day-to-day execution of field activities across ongoing projects.

• Coordinate with enumerators and supervisors on daily field plans, targets, appointments, follow-ups, and operational requirements.

• Monitor survey progress through dashboards and trackers and flag gaps, delays, or unusual patterns.

• Maintain and regularly update survey dashboards, field trackers, and other operational sheets.

• Conduct field visits to both urban and rural units to monitor fieldwork and provide on-ground support.

• Coordinate with factories/units, participants, and other field stakeholders to ensure smooth field operations.

• Support participant tracking, appointment scheduling, follow-ups, and other activities required to complete surveys within timelines.

• Identify field-level challenges and work with the relevant teams to troubleshoot and resolve them.

• Support the onboarding, training, and day-to-day coordination of field staff and enumerators as required.

• Monitor field teams for adherence to survey protocols, consent procedures, and other study requirements.

• Support field logistics, including tablets, SIMs, survey materials, travel, and other operational requirements.

• Maintain clear documentation of field activities, issues, decisions, and follow-ups.

• Proactively communicate field risks, delays, and operational challenges to the Field Operations Manager and relevant project teams.

• Support the implementation of interventions and other project activities as required.

• Suggest and implement practical improvements to field processes based on on-ground learning.
