Bitcoin.com is seeking a KYC Analyst to join our Compliance team. With over 85 million wallets created and a global audience, Bitcoin.com is one of the world's leading crypto content and onboarding platforms. This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to work at the front line of our financial-crime programme, reviewing customer onboarding, resolving KYC escalations, and helping keep our risk and screening processes sharp as we scale across jurisdictions.
Responsibilities & Core Competencies
Role Overview
The KYC Analyst will sit within the Compliance function, supporting the Compliance Officer and Deputy Compliance Officer on day-to-day KYC/KYB operations. You'll be the first line of review for onboarding and ongoing due diligence, flagging higher-risk cases for escalation and helping maintain a clean, well-documented CDD/EDD process. This role suits someone detail-oriented, comfortable with ambiguity, and ready to grow into more senior compliance responsibility.
Key Focus Areas and Key Responsibilities
• Conduct KYC/CDD reviews on new and existing customers, including identity verification, document checks, and customer risk-rating in line with the risk framework
• Assist in KYB and UBO verification for corporate/partner onboarding if required
• Disposition PEP, sanctions and adverse-media screening alerts; document rationale for true/false-positive decisions and escalate confirmed or ambiguous hits to the AML Manager
• Conduct first-line transaction monitoring alert reviews and basic source-of-funds checks; flag activity that may warrant EDD or a SAR/STR recommendation.
• Monitor transaction alerts and support investigations into unusual activity
• Maintain accurate, audit-ready case files and escalate potential SAR/STR triggers to the Deputy Compliance Officer
• Support periodic reviews, remediation exercises, and licensing-related data requests (MiCA/EMI)
• Help maintain and improve internal KYC procedures, checklists, and training materials
• Handle KYC-related customer queries and RFIs (requests for information) professionally and within SLA
Must-Haves for this role
• 1–3 years in KYC/AML, screening operations, or fraud/financial-crime. Experience within fintech, crypto, payments, or iGaming background welcome
• Working knowledge of KYC/CDD/EDD processes: PEP/sanctions/adverse-media screening, and customer risk factors
• Ability to write clear, concise alert dispositions and escalation notes in English
• Comfortable using IDV/screening platforms and case-management tools
• Careful, consistent, detail-oriented
• Comfortable following procedures in a fast-changing, scale-up environment
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and escalate appropriately in ambiguous situations
• GDPR awareness
• Strong professional English, written and verbal
Nice to Have
• Hands-on experience with IDV/screening platforms (Sumsub, Onfido, World-Check, ComplyAdvantage, OpenSanctions)
• Exposure to blockchain analytics tools (Chainalysis, Elliptic, TRM)
• Awareness of the AML framework (AMLD/AMLR), MiCA, Travel Rule
• Experience with UBO identification / corporate KYB
• ACAMS Associate, ICA Certificate in AML, or willingness to pursue certification
• General crypto and blockchain domain knowledge
