Position: Project Accountant Location: Southfield, MI Position Summary As a Project Accountant, you'll play a pivotal role supporting project teams delivering major construction projects across sports and entertainment venues, higher-education facilities, healthcare environments, cutting-edge aerospace, and many other industries. Job Duties Analyze and resolve project accounting issues, processing payables in compliance with contractual and accounting standards. Reconcile job cost to ensure accurate owner billing, and communicate cost variances to the project team. Perform monthly owner pay applications and required project reporting. Reconcile accounts receivable, provide billing accruals, and audit aged accounts with the project team. Support project budget setup, reviewing mark-ups and price conditions for accuracy. Analyze forecasting and cost reviews with project teams, identifying risk and its impact on project financials. Qualifications: 3+ years of relevant experience, preferably in construction cost analysis, project accounting, or project controls. Understanding of construction accounting concepts such as job costing, owner billing, and change orders. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. Ability to analyze, identify, and resolve accounts receivable and payable issues. Ability to balance a project team role with financial controls and fiduciary responsibilities. Ability to recognize and communicate project risks and understand various construction project delivery methods. Effective time management, organization, and attention to detail, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize under pressure.
