About this role
As a Hydraulic Systems Engineer, you will join our Gillingham team to support our activities within the aerospace engineering sector.
You will support the development, analysis, and validation of hydraulic systems and electro-hydraulic components used in advanced aerospace applications. Working within a multidisciplinary engineering environment, you will be involved in system performance analysis, testing, troubleshooting, and the evaluation of hydraulic equipment to ensure compliance with technical and operational requirements.

Support the design, analysis, and development of hydraulic systems and electro-hydraulic componentsConduct performance assessments of hydraulic systems and solenoid valve assembliesAnalyse and interpret test data to identify trends, issues, and improvement opportunitiesSupport system testing, troubleshooting, and root cause investigationsDevelop engineering calculations and analytical models to support design decisionsCollaborate with design, systems, and test teams to ensure successful product development and integrationGenerate technical reports and present findings to internal stakeholders Required Skills:
Strong understanding of solenoid valves and electro-hydraulic componentsMechanical engineering background with experience of hydraulic systemsExperience in data processing, interpretation, and engineering analysisProficiency with MATLAB and MathcadAbility to support testing, troubleshooting, and performance evaluation activitiesStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilitiesAbility to communicate technical concepts effectively within multidisciplinary teamsRequired Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.Experience working with hydraulic systems in an engineering environmentKnowledge of engineering analysis methodologies and system validation activitiesDesirable Skills:
Experience within aerospace, defence, automotive, or other highly regulated industriesKnowledge of hydraulic actuation systems and control technologiesFamiliarity with requirements verification and validation processesExperience using simulation or modelling tools to support hydraulic system developmentUnderstanding of systems engineering principles and product development lifecycles Why join us?
