About this role
As a Production Manager you will join our Portsmouth team to support our activities within the aerospace and defence manufacturing sector.
You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling activities across the production line to ensure products are delivered on schedule and within budget. Working closely with procurement, manufacturing, and logistics teams, you will play a key role in maintaining production flow and supporting operational excellence

Plan, coordinate, and monitor production activities to meet project schedules and cost objectivesManage the release of requisitions based on MRP outputsCoordinate with procurement teams to expedite, amend, or cancel orders as requiredManage the end-to-end kitting process, including order scheduling and works order releaseCoordinate flight store activities and ensure timely delivery through the clean roomMonitor production progress and proactively address material or scheduling issuesEnsure adherence to established processes and deadlines to support business and project requirements Required Skills:
Experience in production control, material planning, or manufacturing operationsStrong understanding of MRP systems and production scheduling principlesAbility to coordinate activities across multiple functions, including procurement and manufacturingExcellent organisational skills with strong attention to detailAbility to prioritise workloads and manage competing deadlinesStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsRequired Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.Experience working within a production, manufacturing, or logistics environmentKnowledge of production planning and inventory management processesDesirable Skills:
Experience within aerospace, defence, or other highly regulated industriesFamiliarity with ERP/MRP systems such as SAPKnowledge of clean room, kitting, or stores management processesContinuous improvement or lean manufacturing experience Why join us?
