Eurofins Discovery provides lab research services for pharmaceutical and biotech organizations in a wide
range of therapeutic areas to promote novel therapies for patients in need. This role will conduct industry
leading cell-based and analytical assays in a laboratory setting with automated and classical methods.
Associate Scientist II responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Performs work in a laboratory setting, meeting the physical job requirements of a lab rolePrepares and manages inventory of buffers, reagents, media, semi-finished and finished goodsMaintains cell culture in a BSL2 laboratory, and adheres to cleanroom guidelines and aseptic technique, according to protocolsGenerates data by performing lab assays in ADME Toxicology, Ion Channel, Translational Biology, Cell and Gene Therapy, and Large Molecule ServicesConducts production assays with recombinant, primary and traditional cell models used in human tissues to cells and cell-based bioassaysPerforms data calculations and analysis, provides QC review of data and project reportsSupports mid-size laboratory research and development projects with minimal supervisionDemonstrates proficiency with, care and maintenance of lab equipment and department assetsConducts responsible use of confidential IT and business systems, as requiredAdheres to department SOPs and documentation requirements, maintains accurate data management and reportingWorks effectively in a team environment, under minimum direction, to achieve project timelines, delivery to customers and quality objectivesSupports unit goals and demonstrates Eurofins’ competencies, as defined in the job planProvides training to colleagues and external end users, when requiredContributes to scientific community, and site research and development objectivesAdjusts work hours and provides cross-functional support to other departments, as required, and maintains accountability in delivering to client needs/timelinesRoutinely communicates project updates to internal and external clientsUnderstands and complies with quality management requirements and GxP complianceCompletes required training and supports 100% of Employee Health and Safety requirementsPerforms other duties, as assigned Basic Minimum Education Qualifications:
B.A. or B.S. with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experienceM.A. or M.S. with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experienceBasic Minimum Qualifications:
Experience with in vitro enzymatic assays, HPLC, GC coupled with Mass Spectrometry, ELISA, High Content Imaging, Electrophysiology or Flow Cytometry assaysExperience in a contract research organizationExperience supporting services in a GLP or cGMP laboratoryExperience with method development and optimizationExperience with automation, robotics or HTS applicationsExperience in leading and delivering results in R&D lab settingExperience in recombinant cell-line developmentDemonstrated experience supporting cell-based and analytical methods in a dynamic service labExperience in good documentation practices and lab record-keepingAbility to work in a laboratory setting, according to the physical requirements of a laboratory roleLab equipment expertise and office computer/software proficiencyAuthorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.The Ideal Candidate Possesses the Following:
