About this role
· Oversee purchasing and maintain cost analysis studies
· Collect, analyze, and summarize purchasing data and trends.
· Provide vendor audits and confirm capabilities
· Work with project management, production, engineering in establishing materials standards
· Develop primary and alternate sources of supply for critical and/or unique items to assure that the company is protected from the risk of single source vendors.
· Assist in developing policies and procedures on the types and quantities of materials, supplies and tools to keep in inventory
· Explore new sources and/or alternate products that may offer increased benefits.
· Maintain a high level of business ethics in all vendor relations; develop supplier relationships
· Verifies purchase requisitions by comparing items to the BOM
· Prepares purchase orders by verifying specification and price; obtaining recommendations from suppliers for substitute items; obtaining approval from the engineering department.
· Obtains purchased items by forwarding orders to suppliers, monitoring and expediting orders.
· Verifies receipt of items by comparing items received to items ordered; resolve shipments in error with suppliers.
· Keeps information accessible by sorting and filing documents.
· Maintains data integrity within SAP.
· Develop & expand SAP Purchasing Applications within ERP System
· Assist Estimating with obtaining procurement quotes.
· Negotiate Freight cost and Terms with current Vendors
· Perform Supplier audit onsite and off-site
· Optimization of coating and outside operation of purchasing process
· Optimization of Raw material, Lexan & extrusion purchasing process
· 5-10 years required of Manufacturing and/or Automation Experience
